After a fairly brutal first round, Ed Feng looked to get back into the black with a Clippers victory. Alas, it wasn’t to be as the Clippers ran out of gas. That leaves Ed currently down $51,527. However, all is not last as Ed may yet find himself back on the positive side with an Atlanta Hawks victory:

An Atlanta series victory would guarantee Ed a profit heading into the NBA finals. However, Ed’s expected value for the first three rounds net out to $110,780, so Ed’s EV isn’t necessarily predictive of success. Speaking of predictions, Ed’s series odds now include injuries, which may be why he is so bullish on Atlanta. The loss of Kevin Love appears to a major factor in Ed’s projections. We’ll see how that works out over the next fortnight

Risk To Win Side Expected Win % Expected Value Result
36505.26 69360 Atlanta 0.584 25320.05 0

We knew going on it would likely be feast or famine for Ed Feng (@thepowerrank) round 1. His expected value for the first round was a bit over $60,000, but most of that came from his four longshots. Alas, none of them came through for Ed:

As always, I wish Ed best of luck round 2.The major news here is that Ed has a lot more faith in the Cavaliers than he has in the Warriors. I’ll post an update once the limits on the Clippers-Rockets series go up. You’ll note I am allowing Ed to play with a reloaded bankroll. I am doing that to keep the edge-bet size ratios constant, but I will provide a review of what the results would be with an updated bankroll. (Updated: I’ve added the Clippers now that the lines have gone up).
