Ed Feng’s Bogus Journey? NBA Playoffs Round 2:

We knew going on it would likely be feast or famine for Ed Feng (@thepowerrank) round 1. His expected value for the first round was a bit over $60,000, but most of that came from his four longshots. Alas, none of them came through for Ed:

Risk To Win Side Expected Win % Expected Value Result
7666.67 11500 Washington 0.446 881.67 11500.00
4120.00 92700 New Orleans 0.082 3819.24 -4120.00
18484.38 118300 Milwaukee 0.295 21867.02 -18484.38

Here are Ed’s projections for the second round:

Here is how his second round slate looks:

Risk To Win Side Expected Win % Expected Value Result
56376.00 24726 Cleveland 0.867 13939.71 0
1187.72 2708 Washington 0.317 47.22 0
5065.10 37735 Memphis 0.163 1911.32 0
22014.81 29720 LAC 0.552 6542.80 0
84643.63 94889.32 1.90 22441.05 0

As always, I wish Ed best of luck round 2.The major news here is that Ed has a lot more faith in the Cavaliers than he has in the Warriors. I’ll post an update once the limits on the Clippers-Rockets series go up. You’ll note I am allowing Ed to play with a reloaded bankroll. I am doing that to keep the edge-bet size ratios constant, but I will provide a review of what the results would be with an updated bankroll. (Updated: I’ve added the Clippers now that the lines have gone up).
