Selection Sunday WAB & Blend

I’ve decided to follow the crowd and set the baseline level for WAB at the 25th best team in the country. It seems to produce reasonable numbers. Blend requires a bit more explanation.

Blend is a 50-50 hybrid between the quality of your resume and your power rating. It isn’t measuring the best team, or the most deserving team, but a mixture of both. Michigan would have nudged past Washington and Penn St. if we were to use that methodology. If we are judging purely on resume, Penn St. is the clear choice. If going purely off of power rating, it would have been Michigan. Having said that, Washington is still a fairly strong team, who is going to get their clock thoroughly cleaned by Alabama. 😦

As for Western Michigan, I wish they had been paired against anyone but Wisconsin. Now my heart is torn between rooting for the underdog and rooting for the Badgers. Alas.

Note, these are derived using the F+ ratings.
