A good start to the day

The Jets cut Football Outsiders deficit to -$401,542. There will be some huge swings today:

Oakland Raiders @ Chicago Bears
Oakland Raiders -3, risking $416,764 to win $400,735

Raiders being favored on the road is a rather exciting development. We’ll see how that goes.

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts -4, risking $36,406 to win $36,046

It’s been a very rough season so far for Indianapolis. A loss at home to the Jaguars would be an utter disaster.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Redskins
Philadelphia Eagles -3, risking $64,286 to win $53,129

Is Chip Kelly still a genius? I suppose that’s the Philadelphia version of “Is Joe Flacco elite?”.

Houston Texans @ Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta -6.5, risking $114,661 to win $107,160

Atlanta and Carolina are both expected to start 4-0. The NFC South may be a dogfight instead of a laughingstock.

Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Carolina Panthers -3, risking $308,855 to win $263,979

The Panthers haven’t played as well as their record would suggest, but so far their schedule has been quite soft. That will change after their bye when they head to Seattle.

New York Giants @ Buffalo Bills
Buffalo -5.5, risking $138,672 to win $135,953

Buffalo has looked very good early this season, although so have the Giants (until the fourth quarter).

Kansas City Chiefs @ Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati -4, risking $127,725 to win $121,643

The Bengals are looking to build up a commanding lead in the AFC North. It will be very tough to get homefield advantage throughout the playoffs given New England’s schedule.

I’ll be back in three hours or so with the late afternoon games.
